Position Overview:
As the Senior Director of Adult Programs at the Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota, you will play a crucial role in developing and overseeing initiatives focused on supporting adults with Down syndrome and their caregivers. This leadership position requires a strategic thinker with a deep commitment to enhancing the quality of life for adults with Down syndrome.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive program strategy to address the diverse needs of adults with Down syndrome and their caregivers as they age into and through adulthood, aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Program Development & Delivery: Drive the creation, enhancement, delivery and evaluation of programs for individuals with Down syndrome from their transition from adolescence to and through adulthood and aging. This includes programs to support the individual as well as their parents and caregivers. Ensure alignment with the organization's objectives and measurable impact.
- Public Policy, Advocacy and Representation: Understand policy changes affect adults with Down syndrome; advocate where change is needed including collaborating with policy makers, government agencies, and stakeholders to shape and influence policy; and represent DSAMn in the appropriate forums advocating for the importance of broad community investment and support for adults with Down syndrome and promoting the organization's mission.
- Partnership Building: Cultivate and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including educators, employers, healthcare providers, community organizations, and government entities, to enhance program effectiveness and reach for adults with Down syndrome.
- Budget Oversight: Manage program budgets dedicated to programs for adults with Down syndrome, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational priorities.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
A minimum of 15 years of professional experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, with increasing levels of duties and responsibilities over time.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Demonstrated success in strategic planning and implementation of new programs.
Understanding of budget management and financial stewardship.
Job Details:
Hours: Part-Time, approximately 24-30 hours per week. Some evenings and weekends for events/activities will be required.
Location: Hybrid with a minimum of two days per week in our headquarters in St. Paul.
