Why we Step Up for Down Syndrome: Programming for Teens & Adults
We Step Up for teens and adults with Down syndrome because we believe support should be lifelong.
We step up to ensure individuals and families have guidance during key life transitions. Through our Transition Family Connector, families receive individualized support as they navigate the complex journey from school services to adult life, including employment, programming, and community resources.
We step up for direct programming that builds social, life, and employment skills. Our career services provide opportunities for career exploration, workforce preparation, paid work experiences, and personalized career consultation to help individuals pursue meaningful employment and greater independence.
We step up for the arts. Our strong and growing arts programming brings joy, connection, and enrichment while creating opportunities for self-expression and creativity. Through improv, acting classes, plays, and film projects, teens and adults with Down syndrome develop confidence, collaboration, and performance skills.
We also step up for a generation of adults with Down syndrome who are living longer than ever before. Through our 35+ Family Connector, we provide resources, education, and ongoing support for individuals and families as they navigate aging, including Alzheimerās and dementia diagnoses.
We hope you enjoy visiting our Teens & Adults Hospitality Tent during Step Up and have a chance to connect with us in person, gather as a community, and continue supporting our amazing teens and adults with Down syndrome.
