Event Coordinator Job Description
Location: Duluth, MN
Job Type: Hybrid/Part-Time (.25 FTE/8-10 hours per week, events occur on evenings and weekends and are required)
Rate: $20/Hour
Organization Overview:
The Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota (DSAMn) is a statewide nonprofit organization with the mission to empower individuals and families, create community, and celebrate people with Down syndrome. We do this by providing support, assistance, and opportunity to individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Our vision is for all people with Down syndrome to achieve their fullest potential in an accepting and inclusive society. We are the leading source of information and support for individuals, families, and providers across the state of Minnesota. Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Part-Time Event Coordinator to plan and execute events that align with our organizationās goals. This position is ideal for a highly organized individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for creating memorable experiences.
Responsibilities
- Event Planning and Execution:
Coordinate logistics for events, including scheduling, venue selection, and vendor management.
Manage event timelines to ensure smooth operations.
Oversee setup, operation, and teardown for events.
- Communication and Collaboration:
Serve as the primary point of contact for event-related inquiries.
Work with internal teams and stakeholders to develop event content and programming.
Maintain clear and timely communication with vendors, attendees, and partners.
- Administrative Support:
Track event expenses and adhere to budget guidelines.
Manage attendees registrations, RSVPs, and follow-up communications.
Prepare and distribute event materials, such as programs, agendas, and promotional items.
- Marketing and Promotion:
Collaborate on promotional materials and social media content for events.
Assist with outreach to attract attendees or participants.
Job Qualifications:
- Familiarity with social media platforms and marketing strategies.
- Experience working with diverse populations or in community-based roles
